Our mission
To support and resource community-led efforts to radically improve early-years literacy in West Africa

What we do

Fund and Support
We resource small and local organisations to lead the change in their own communities. By providing long-term, flexible funding and opportunities for collaboration, we enable culturally grounded approaches that put communities at the centre of improving literacy.

Champion Community-Driven Change
We build and share evidence that community-driven change (CDC) works. Through research, documentation, and storytelling, we amplify local voices and bring 'doers' and 'donors' together, making CDC more visible, accessible, and influential.

Disrupt Philanthropic Practices
We challenge traditional donor models by promoting trust-based, equitable funding. By modelling progressive approaches and engaging peers, we work to create a funding system that truly empowers local actors.

Our vision

We're dreaming of a world where local communities in West Africa are improving literacy, sustainably.

Annual Report 2024

In 2024, we've continued to back powerful early literacy work—but also pushed ourselves to think harder about how lasting change really happens. That’s led us to something bigger: a shift toward true partnership, grounded in community leadership and local ownership. We’re excited to share what that looks like in our 2024 Annual Report.
